Bishop is attracted to interesting ideas, usually involving science. He started following his interests to medical school, but felt his creativity hemmed in by it. He taught high school science, designed courses, loved the storytelling of the classroom until narrative audio caught his ear.

Armed with a microphone, he gathered ideas and helped tell stories at The Washington Post until it was clear he needed to write for the newsroom. He loved his creative collaborators at The Post but now, he’s pursuing his best ideas, independently.
